It was like only yesterday when our children had their first day in school, and now 100 days have passed! 100 brighter and it keeps on going!
Even though it was a busy day of counting to 100, the Vet visited our class with Alice the puppy! We learned about staying calm so she won't get stressed. Everybody had the chance to pet Alice and it was a success of calmness and controlled emotions. Good job Eagles!
Our eggs have hatched!! I have been taking pictures since the first day we saw the eggs. It was a little bit hard taking pictures from inside the class window, so it is somewhat not clear. I zoomed in the picture and i only got one baby picture. It was the beauty of nature.
Thank you for your support to our international week! We appreciate the food and the international dress up was fabulous!
We visited Spain, Australia,Korea, Japan and Mongolia!
Representing Egypt was a fantastic experience for us. Special thanks to Hazem, Yara and Yousef for lending us the picture, pyramids,Pharaoh Tutankhamen, Queen Nephtys and the sphinx. It made our classroom feel like we are in Egypt! We learned about Egypt in ancient times and our resource speaker Ms Maryam was so kind enough to share the culture and traditions of Egypt. You're magnificent!
Our Egyptian action song presentation! Enjoy!
Eagles were energized and prepared to show off their activeness and sportsmanship during the day.
Science Made Fun Trip
We were looking forward for this trip because it is all about exploration and inquiry. Our children learned about Botany/ study of plants where they listened attentively how seeds turn into plants and that there are many types of plants. In the Biology room ,everybody were brave to look into preserved insects and skeletons. And lastly, our kids made their butterfly and spider craft.
We were musicians this week! Each one of our kids has a talent in line with music, either in singing, body percussion or playing a musical instrument. Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness: intellectual, social and emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. We have music schools in Doha, let them play music!
Eagles learned more about patterns, making their own patterns was the fun part. Positional words is an on going vocabulary in our class, so we learned a song and used dinosaurs and cups to show our understanding about these words.
Thank you to Ms Mariam and Ms Omyma for assisting us during this trip! Me and MS Katty really appreciate your helping hands=)
This week we talked about different jobs/professions of their parents and were introduced to other possible occupations in the future. It was amazing that they have the knowledge of what professionals do to help the community and that they would like to be all of them!
We teach our children to be good listeners and one way of teaching them is through listening activity. Can't get over matman..this is how they do it.
Safety Week 15th - 19th January 2017
